Wal-Mart tracking lettuce on blockchain

#1

I do appreciate knowing where my E.coli comes from.

haha definitely a glass-half-empty way to look at it. You have to admit it would be nice to know the real source of produce and where it’s been.

This would be great for tracking whether or not food is really organic. I don’t buy organic stuff because I figure it’s probably a scam. On blockchain the farms would really be accountable because bounty hunters could test the food for pesticides or whatever.

The program is called “Walmart Leafy” and it is designed to both track produce, and serve as a ‘retail payment system’. I assume that is a competitor for Western Union or something like that.
